About
Hanna Will is a New York-based painter. "I see the process of painting as an alchemical and poetic expression," she says in her artist's statement from her most recent show.
She explores expressionistic fluidity of esoteric realms.. She pursued her classical education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and received a Masters Degree in painting and Art History. She has maintained a sentimental liaison with France, once her home, and maintains ties to a Parisian circle of artists, writers, poets, and film makers. Her eclectic interests, passion for literature and philosophy, and extensive travels have taken her to many countries in pursuit of studying different cultures and religions.
"I am inspired by nature and the mundane, a universal language that speaks to me. The real journey, though, starts within, where the symbiotic alchemy of creativity comes from”, she says. She is a natural colorist, searching to capture the paradox of the elusive elements of the moment, where the inner and the outer meet.
Writer Jonathan Cott once wrote of her work: "Rumi said ‘People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch.” This is the realm of Hanna Will’s paintings. We enter them with astonishment.”
Her highly sought-after paintings adorn the walls of numerous private collections. For inquiries, please use the contact form below.
